Huck Holkeboer

 

LIFE STORY:
Carl Holkeboer, age 75, of Holland died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Hospice House of Holland.

Born in Holland June 6, 1935, Carl was the son of Edward and Reka Holkeboer. He was a graduate of Holland High School (1955), earned a Bachelorís Degree Western Michigan University, and later received his Masters from Michigan State University. Carl served in the Navy Reserves. He owned and operated Home Planning for over 30 years in the West Michigan area. An avid wood turner and carver, he was also an accomplished tennis player and golfer. Carl volunteered at Holland Hospital and was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Reka; and a brother, Ronald Holkeboer.

His family includes: wife of 45 years, Karen Holkeboer; daughter Kathy Holkeboer of Jenison, daughter Julie and Tracy Hardy of Waterford, One granddaughter, Ashley Mokma; two step grandchildren, Justin and Matthew Hardy; a brother David and Elaine Holkeboer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be Wednesday, 3:00pm at Fellowship Reformed Church in Holland with a time of fellowship immediately following the service. Officiating will be the Rev. James Baar. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland or to Fellowship Reformed Church.
